Business/Political Reporter -- Ames, Iowa

The Ames Tribune is looking for an experienced business reporter who also has a taste for politics. On the business beat, this reporter will cover everything from mom-and-pops to multinationals, burritos to biofuels. On the politics side, this reporter keeps an eye on the Iowa Statehouse and helps cover national politics and politicians as they move through central Iowa.

This isn’t a job for a neophyte. Applicants should have at least five years of solid experience covering business and/or government, and must possess a desire to develop our coverage in these areas.  Experience with multimedia and social media is a plus; willingness to work in the digital world is a must.

Applicants should email a cover letter, resume,  five work samples and references to Tribune Editor Alexandra Hayne, ahayne@amestrib.com.  Postal mail can be sent to the Ames Tribune, 317 Fifth St., Ames, IA, 50010. No phone calls, please.  The Ames Tribune is an equal-opportunity employer. Pre-employment drug testing is required. The Ames Tribune is part of Stephens Media Iowa.
