The Ames Tribune is looking for an energetic and versatile copy editor/page designer.
You’ll join a four-person copy/design desk and have responsibility for the Tribune’s sports sections, including Iowa State University and local high school sports.
You’ll also get the opportunity to edit and design for Ames Out Loud, our weekly section devoted to the thriving Ames music and entertainment scene, and our other sections while honing your skills as an editor, designer and illustrator. The person we’re looking for has top-notch copy editing skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and make deadlines.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field and at least a year of copy editing and design experience in a daily news environment. Recent college graduates with strong college and internship experience will be considered.  You must be skilled in InDesign and comfortable working in print and digital content management systems.
The position requires night and Saturday work.
